Spring is upon us and it’s time to haul ass to LA for the annual Made in Iceland get together. This year the format is different and we have moved to Hollywood. The intimate event takes place at The Fork, a new restaurant on Sunset Boulevard during lunch on April 8th. It seems that there is an overwhelming response to the invite so we expect a great turnout. Two acts will perform. Samaris is a three piece band with an interesting setup. Electronic beats from a groovalicious wunderkid, angel like vocals and a clarinet. Then Högni Egilsson of Hjaltalin and Gus gus fame will fill the room with his great voice, charisma and great looks.
E4 is a proud co-producer of the event which also marks an new approach to sharing great Icelandic music with the music supervision community. IMX, the Icelandic Music Export Office has called upon the expertise of Synchtank, the software house specializing in solutions to manage and present catalogs of music of any size. From now on, Made in Iceland is a year round event taking place in cyberspace but not only a once a year celebration of a CD release.
To spice things up a bit, IMX is offering to invite the first supervisor who will in the next weeks and months synchronize Icelandic music for at least USD 10.000 to come check out the vibrant Icelandic music scene during this year’s Airwaves. And thats for two!
We hope to run into the usual suspects and get a chance to make new friends.
